Our Mission

To preserve a working farm that provides enriching educational experiences, fosters community connection, and cultivates a shared appreciation for New Hampshire’s agricultural heritage and natural environment.

Barnyard Accessibility

We strive to make the farm welcoming to all visitors. Below are important details to consider before your visit. If you have any accessibility needs or require special accommodations, please reach out to us at katie@theeducationalfarm.org or 603-472-4724.

Walking Trails

  • The farm features walking paths and access to the Piscataquog Land Conservancy The open fields of the Joppa Hill Conservation Area serve as great habitat for wildlife and provide opportunities to hike and snowshoe on marked trails. A loop trail begins at Joppa Hill Farm and runs through fields and forest and to a beautiful beaver pond. The Joppa Hill Educational Farm is a great activity for the whole family.
  • Trails and roads are primarily dirt and gravel-covered, and are generally accessible for strollers, wheelchairs and mobility devices, though conditions may vary depending on the season.
  • Some months, animals may be in the upper pasture, which is visible from the top of a short hill.

  • Several picnic tables and benches are available for resting and enjoying the farm.

  • The farm follows a carry-in/carry-out trash policy to help maintain a clean environment.

Buildings

  • The Farm Stand is open from April–January, and requires stairs for access.

  • Our historic barn is not accessible to the public unless staff is present to facilitate a tour under the guidelines of our Agrotourism permit.

  • Additional outbuildings (e.g., storage sheds, equipment shelters, animal housing) are also not accessible to the public.

  • There is a porta-potty by the barn doors and a handicap-accessible porta-potty in the parking lot.

Dogs

  • Leashed dogs are welcome to walk through the farm.

  • As a carry-in/carry-out farm, we provide complimentary dog waste bags. Please clean up after your pet and take the waste with you for proper disposal.
