Fall Fair at Joppa Hill Educational Farm

Get ready for a day of family fun at Joppa Hill Educational Farm’s Fall Fair! This is one of the largest fundraisers for our non-profit farm!
Join us on Saturday, September 27, from 10 AM to 4 PM! Enjoy the crisp autumn air with hayrides around the hayfield, meet and greet our farm animals, unleash your creativity with a variety of crafts, and more!!! There’ll be plenty of exciting vendors and music to keep everyone entertained, and of course, you won’t want to miss the food trucks and the best part of Fall – delicious apple cider donuts! It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season—see you there!

 

Paint and Play with Miss Jenn!  

Join Miss Jenn for a variety of classes at the Farm!  Classes will include:

  • Hike and Craft: Join us for a short hike to meet the animals followed by a story and farm craft. A different theme each week!
  • Pattern Party:Art and science together! Let’s look at patterns in nature and make our own pattern creations!
  • Making Butter:Let’s learn about cows and learn to make butter and do a cow craft.  Samples for everyone.
  • Bug Hunters: Have fun on a bug hunt, listen to a bug story and do a bug craft
  • Tot Fitness: Have fun stretching, balancing, dancing and exercising with friends at the farm.

From Feed to Field: Behind the scenes look at livestock care

Join UNH Extension Livestock Specialist, Katrina Klobucher and step beyond the barnyard and into the pasture as we unpack the “why” behind what we do. You’ll learn how strategic animal movement, pasture rotation, and species-specific nutrition contribute to the health of our livestock and the land.

Perfect for aspiring farmers, animal lovers, and anyone interested in sustainable agriculture.

Unwanted Guests: Spotting Invasives on the Farm

Join UNH Extension Forester Mike Gagnon and take a walk on the wild side—literally! During this guided trail walk, we’ll hunt down the invasive plants creeping across our farm. You’ll learn how to identify them, understand the damage they cause, and discover what we can do to reclaim our fields and forests. Fun, informative, and a little weedy!

Perfect for  anyone interested in sustainable agriculture and natural resources.

Pasture Walk: Growing Grass for Healthy Herds

Join UNH Extension’s Carl Majweski, dairy, livestock and forage crops specialist for a guided walk through the pastures as we dive into the foundations of healthy grazing. Learn how to identify beneficial grasses and forage species, understand what makes a pasture thrive, and explore how rotational grazing supports animal health and land resilience.

Ideal for farmers, backyard animal keepers, and anyone curious about sustainable land management.
