Camp Manager

Seasonal, Full time

Oversee daily camp operations, including schedules, staffing, and camper group management to ensure programs run smoothly and on time. Manage administrative systems such as check-in/out, licensing compliance, health logs, and incident reporting. Supervise staff scheduling and provide ongoing support and training. Serve as the primary point of contact for families, handling communication and concerns professionally. Maintain camp facilities, supplies, and overall site readiness, while upholding safety protocols and responding effectively to incidents. Provide hands-on support to staff and programs to ensure a high-quality camp experience.

Animal Care Intern

Community Educational Programs Intern

We are seeking  interns interested in earning credit or experience while working with and learning from our variety of programs. You’ll work primarily within a specific area of the farm based on your interests and needs. You’ll be mentored by  staff members, a variety of texts and resources, and through independent reflection.  Upon successfully completing the internship, you may potentially apply for paid seasonal staff positions as they arise.

OFFERED SEASONALLY| FULL TIME AND PART TIME

  • Fall: September – December
  • Spring: January – May
  • Summer: May – August

Board of Directors

The Joppa Hill Educational Farm (JHEF), a nonprofit 501(c)(3), is seeking dedicated community members to join our Board of Directors. This is a volunteer leadership role that plays a vital part in advancing our mission of preserving farmland, promoting agricultural education, and fostering community connections.

Ideal candidates will bring:

  •  Passion for nonprofit work, agriculture, and education
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Commitment to collaboration and community building

Responsibilities include:

  • Advising the Board on fiscal strategy and sustainability

  • Ensuring transparency and accountability

  • Estimated 5-10 hours of volunteer time per month depending on season

Serving as a board member is a meaningful way to share your expertise while making a lasting impact on our community and the next generation of learners.
