Visit the Farm

Know Before You Visit

The farm is open from dawn until dusk, 365-days a year. There is a suggested a $5 donation per family to visit the farm which can be paid via venmo or in a cash box at the farm’s entrance. There are many other ways to support our non-profit, such as purchasing items in our Farm Stand or sending a donation online!

We are often working on the farm and not in the office. You can text/call should you have any questions 603-472-4724.

Be aware that the farm property is a public space, shared among our neighbors. Please be courteous of other groups enjoying the space alongside you.

A few things to consider before visiting the farm:

  • Dogs are welcome, but must be on leash. Please be respectful as we do have free range chickens here at the farm and off-leash dogs pose a significant threat to their safety and well being. Remember to pick up after your pet.
  • Carry in/carry out all trash.
  • We do not have plumbing but there is a portable toilet guests are welcome to use.

Hiking Trails

Maps and more information

The farm is part of a 190 acre parcel of land owned by the Town of Bedford, subject to a conservation easement held by Piscataquog Land Conservancy.

The open fields of the Joppa Hill Conservation Area serve as great habitat for wildlife and provide opportunities to hike and snowshoe on marked trails. A loop trail begins at Joppa Hill Farm and runs through fields and forest and to a beautiful beaver pond. The Joppa Hill Educational Farm is a great activity for the whole family!

If you’re looking for a longer adventure, the hiking trail from the farm also connects to the Pulpit Rock Trail.
